Established in 1845, the Ayer’s Cliff Fair has earned a reputation as one of best run and largest Country Fairs in Quebec. Last year, the Ayer’s Cliff Fair welcomed over 30,000 visitors to get a close up look at some of the best farm operators in Quebec who present their price winning live stock for judging in a friendly bi-lingual setting. Like other expositions in the Townships, the fair is rooted in the traditions of New England, where agricultural societies were formed to provide framers and breeders with a forum for exchanging ideas about the latest farming practices.

The Fair gives farmers the opportunity to show off their fresh and local products, but it also features a range of competitions, where breeders vie for prizes in different classes of horse, and other animals. There are horticultural awards in various categories, as well. Other attractions include, horse racing with betting, truck pulling, midway and a live country band with dancing. Also, the rides at the fair are always a popular draw, especially with kids. And, from the grandstand, spectators can watch harness racing, concerts and other entertainment.
