Employment Opportunities

When they built Ripplecove Inn in 1945, original owners Archie and Elizabeth Stafford had some major challenges on their hands. The first was to bring roads and electricity to the area, which had none. The second was to attract clientele to a then relatively remote location in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

But with Ripplecove, the Staffords also had a couple significant advantages: a very special setting and a magnificent newly constructed inn.

Catering to a clientele of outdoorsmen who came for the legendary fishing on Lake Massawippi (30-pound trout were not unusual!), the summer retreat quickly earned a reputation for exceptional food and accommodations. Throughout the 1950s, Ripplecove became a regular destination for guests from across Canada, Europe and the United States.

During the 1960s, the inn transitioned into a year-round destination offering a range of activities in all seasons, and by the time a third generation of Staffords, Debra and Jeffrey, took over as owners in the mid 1980s, Ripplecove was ready for a bit of renewal. Investing significantly between 1985 and 1987, the Staffords renovated every room in the existing inn and completed a major expansion, adding new rooms, a new lobby and a lakeside pub. Ripplecove was rewarded with a coveted AAA Four-Diamond rating, and has held the rating every year since. Another major renovation was carried out in 2003, adding a Spa, 10 luxury rooms, new banquet and conference facilities and a hot tub under the trees overlooking the lake. All renovations and additions have fully respected the history of the inn, resulting in a seamless appearance.

Today, after more than 60 years in business, Ripplecove retains its position as one of the premiere luxury hotels in Canada, and looks forward to welcoming a new generation of guests.
